Dr. Johannes Gebert

As a molecular biologist by training, my scientific interests are driven by understanding basic mechanisms of tumor biology. Apart from diagnostic screening approaches, most of my previous and current work focussed on tumor-specific alterations of specific receptors and their disease-specific consequences. I have gained a broad practical and theoretical expertise in the molecular and cellular biology of human tumors. My more recent research has been directed towards the molecular mechanisms of MSI tumorigenesis in MMR-deficient mice. As a PI and Co-Investigator my research has been secured through funding by several funding agencies. Major efforts of my future research are devoted to the altered biology of human and mouse MSI tumor cells and the therapeutic concepts derived thereof (https://scholar.google.de/citations?hl=de&user=xhRRgqcAAAAJ).
